What is Dragon Bandwith Control
What is Dragon Bandwith Control? And is it making my downloads slow? Just built a new pc and my steam is downloading at like 2 mb a second. My internet speeds are 800mbs and I average about 500 to 600.

Well, that phrase is certainly not anything related to steam.
Brand new PCs are usually way too open so that you can get into them and tune them as you like. Anyway, check your taskmanager's details tab and see if you can find out what directory that program is running from. But before you try anything, google it and also kick off any respectable antivirus scanner to confirm if its a virus or merely an annoying program you didn't install.

Ok, sounds legit.
Drivers for the network card/adapter I presume?
If so then don't remove it, you'll probably disconnect your internet...

Problem is my steamdown loads are taking hours and hours. I never had this problem and im not getting it on any other devices
I found my problem, it was that stupid bandwith controller, it had steam at the lowest priority. What a stupid software.
Anyone else who has the Dragon software installed uninstall it. It's a crappy network monitoring software; you don't need it for your network card. It's garbage software, and there are better 3rd party tools if you want that level of control.

I forgot that I posted this lol. But yeah you're 100% correct. I figured out what it was and deleted it. Never had internet speed problems again.
Same thing here. My download speeds were less than 2 Mbps with Dragon installed. After much trouble shooting, I removed the software and download speeds went up several orders of magnitude. I would have taken me more than 5 days to download with Dragon, less that 5 hours without.

Interestingly, there is no help for Dragon software. You can can set priority from 1 to 5 or B. It appeared that higher was better based on experimentation, but no idea what B stood. What a SUPID POS software. If I was testing this, it would of had a severity 1 bug (doesn't work), and would have taken it to task for the UI and lack of any instructions or help screens.

Now I am wondering if I completely uninstalled it; perhaps there was a service that still needs uninstalling?

I highly recommend not using Realtek Dragon software. With software this bad, it makes me wonder about the quality of their hardware.
This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
