Fake text from Steam?
I got two texts from different numbers about adding/confirming my phone number on Steam.
I never added my phone number, so what's happening here? The numbers give me some town in Illinois and Camden, NJ (I'm not in the US)

Did Steam somehow spywared my phone number, or is this some new kind of scam? I deauthorized other devices and changed my password, but this still weirded me out

Most likely a attempt to trick you out of your username and password but it could also be that someone got your account and is trying to put their phone on it and steal it from you

If it's the latter, how would I even get a text? I didn't want to put my phone on Steam for privacy reasons.
Wait did you install the steam app?

No. I never gave Steam my number, and my phone doesn't even support apps.

Very strange I'm not sure what's going on but I'm pretty sure it's not steams fault

I'm hoping this is just some weird scam that I can safely ignore

Someone may have simply mistyped their own phone number on Steam, and you got the messages instead.

Absolutely, it's on my phone

Haven't even thought about that, might be it.
