How to improve FPS in old graphics card?
Hi,

I've just got Grim Dawn which is a fantastic game. My graphics card is a AMD 1GB 6670 and I get terrible 30 FPS whilst playing at 720p with everything turned off. I have closed all my extra programs and it doesn't help. Does anyone know how else I can improve the FPS? I'm a student so I can't afford a new graphics card.

I would appreciate all advice and tips you can provide.

Thank you very much :)

The weird thing is, your GPU meets the minimum (and almost the recommended) card. What is your CPU, and how much RAM do you have?

CPU is i5 2400, RAM is 16GB DDR3

Your computer should be running the game fine.

Thanks but neither of those have helped :(

Update your drivers to latest. If even that doesn't helps, you need a new graphics card.

Updates are latest. I just ran PoE which runs fine at 720p with 60fps. So then it must be the game. I guess I will go back to PoE till i can get a new card

Its also on engine optimization. Some games do not do well with AMD cards as they do with nVidia, even if the two cards would be same performance on paper.

My GTX 750 Ti outperforms in some nvidia favored games even the Radeon 270X which should be a class higher card.
