Download Corrupt? Download Pausing?

Hey all. I've done all the searches I can for this incessant bug. It isn't a firewall. I have changed the dowload region proooobably 7 times now. I have all appropriate windows permissions. System32 hasn't been deleted. My PC is plugged in.

Yet this bug continues. No other internet problems exist. For whatever reason, download is either stopping, or just being corrupted. Deleted all files 3 times now. Tried again. Same thing.

Help?

What is your OS and system spec? Have you tried reinstalling and running steam as adminstrator?

Windows 8.1 64. I ran steam as admin (Even if my account has all admin) and it seemed to work for a bit. But it seems as if that is a coincidence. Keeps shutting off. Especially if I open a browser or window steam.

I spent 2 days downloading a game, last night I had less than 10G to finish. This morning it started from 0 again.

1.) Scan your hard-drive(s) for errors

2.) Scan your system for viruses/malware

3.) Run something like "MemTestx86" to ensure that one or more of your RAM sticks isn't faulty as this can lead to junk data being written to HD.

4.) Do a "ping" test in the command prompt, or use some other tool to ensure your internet connection isn't dropping packets.

Any other fixes? Sadly nothing listed really worked.

Does this happen to every game you download via Steam or just a specific game(s)? Do you have problems downloading files outside of Steam? Did you do a thorough scan of your hard-drive?
