Download kills internet connection/ Slow Download
I'm having issues downloading games on steam i recently did a factoy reset to relieve myself of the bloatware on the device.

When I start downloading a game it just drops my internet connection and sometimes I have a relative downloading speed of 1/3 MB/s and it just drops to 0 after a while.

I've already tried:
Updating my drivers (all up to date)
Flushconfig
- Tcp
Setting my rate to 3500

I'm not using any anti-virus programs and steam is allowed in my firewall.
And I'm not usin a wireless connection but a LAN

I haven't used any other downloading software like Utorrent and wasn't really planning on it using it. I've had this problem before awhile back and then it was only with steam

I would suggest trying downloading something from your browser or/and a Torrent software to check if it's a problem with Steam or your connection. Also try downloading something from another device. If you get the same results call you ISP and ask them if everything is ok with your connection. If it's a problem with Steam then i don't really know... But please do what i suggested. :)

I've just used Utorrent for a 215MB file and the download speed was around 9 at it's peak and didn't drop or had any issues. Do you recommend trying a larger file or does this excludes other download programs

I don't think a larger file whould make a difference but you should try it out just in case. Also, try this:
Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Right Click Your Network and Choose Properties > Advanced Tab >

Now Just Make SURE both boxes under Internet Connection Sharing are NOT Checked. (if the one on the bottom is, check the one on the top then uncheck the bottom, then uncheck the top)

I don't think it's gonna help but why not?
that sounds really wrong. steam shouldnt be doing that to youe connection. tell me..what server provider do you use? and do you have a limit to how much you can download everymonth?

I live in greece so it doesn't matter but it's OTE. And no i don't think there is a cap limit. Maybe 100GB but i don't think so.

Hmmmm... i don't know. These boxes shouldn't be the problem though. I did some research but couldn't find anything usefull. Maybe play with your router settings. If i find anything i'll let you know.
Maybe call your ISP and ask them if they are messing up with Steam or something?!
Calling my ISP is something that will have to wait till tomorrow, but I'll give it a shot.
And I will also connect my pc direct to the modem so I can exlude the router being the problem.
