Getting a steam code from a non-english website to get an english game?
There's a site called IsThereAnyDeal, it shows games being sold at discounts. The site is English, but it does contain a few stores in other languages, showing that there are deals there. for example, RPG Maker MV's lowest deal right now is in a website that's french. Would I be able to purchase a code from a non-English site, then use it in steam to get an English version of a game or application off of steam? What if it was from a UK site, which is in English.

if the code is region locked you are out of luck,if not,the game use your default language, only check if is suported, also if the code is region locked dont use tools for cheat the client, thats is motive of acount suspension.

How do I know if a code is region locked? I'd hate to purchase a code, and then discover that it is.

It normally should say if it's region locked but I'd say play it safe and don't buy from them

I wonder why IsThereAnyDeal would list the store then.

I just found out from Reddit, that this site can help discover whether a game is region locked: https://steamdb.info/app/363890/depots/

Does anyone know how, because I don't see any indication of whether it's region locked or not.

French copies are generally not region locked and identical to european copies which they actually are.

Is the shop Gamesplanet by chance? I've bought from them in the past and never had problems.

Yeah, it's the UK Gamesplanet, but the FR and DE Gamesplanet's are only a few cents over the UK's cost, so if the UK sale ever ended, I would of gone to the FR or DE.

That website tracks sales across other websites...

Just note:

You shouldn't purchase Steam games from non-offical resellers:
http://www.epicbundle.com/official-steam-reseller

So "Gamesplanet" is an offical Steam reseller, that's fine.

However, you shouldn't purchase from different countries, as that's actually illegal tax evasion, against Steam TOS, and also runs the risk of being region locked. You could get your entire Steam Account banned if using a VPN/Proxy to do this purchase or run the game.

Thanks, I didn't know about that. I'll look out for non-official resellers.
