why does steam have a rent feature ?
so steam recommended some movie called "blech the movie something something" I look at the price and you can rent it for 3.99$ or buy for 12.99$ and i instanly thought why does someone not record there screen in a software (like as they would record gaming footage) and then only gets it for 4 bucks and not pay the whole thing why does steam even have that is there like something to try and stop it i think its stupid.:bomberrat:

Well.
A) Who knows what Steam might do (if they use VAC like detections you might run afoul of some serious consequences) if you tried to screen capture the picture.
B) It's illegal to do it and a lot of people don't want to deal with the hassle associated with it (particularly as these are pretty much indie movies only).

I rented a movie because it was cheaper and I didn't intend to watch it more than once anyway.

well the only movie i would "rent" for 3.99 would be a brand new one that i wanted to see, most movies you can pick up for 4 bucks in a bargain bin after their release (redbox, store, etc). Renting a movie for 4 bucks gives bad flashbacks to Blockbuster in their monopoly days before Netflix ran them out of business.
