Unable to give gifts in Dota 2 despite having the mobile authenticator?

A friend of mine agreed to have an exchange of items and he has already given his fair share. Now it's my turn however when I try to give gifts in Dota 2 it says "... you don't have Mobile Authenticator so you can only give gifts to people you have been friends with for at least a year."

I already have the authenticator as I installed it today. I've logged out and logged in twice, however its still saying the same thing.

Has anyone figured this out?

You have to wait 7 days for it to be enabled before you can use it

With trading, you have to have the authenticator enabled for 7 days to remove trade holds. Maybe it's the same thing.

A 1 week wait must be done. After 7 days, your account should be able to trade/give the specific stuff.

guys. I bought a battle pass in Dota 2. however I keep on getting error in sending it as a gift because of new payment method was added in my account. And I keep on failing in authenticating the account. I really need to send it as a gift. What to do? Should I wait 7 days? I already have the steam guard mobile authenticator for the longest time. Please help me out.

buddy u must be sure that when u buy battle pass u must use Gift option because battle pass purchasing have 2 option ( start now or as a gift ) I think you choose a wrong option :D
