[SOLVED] Accidentally used a game key for a game i already own

So i bought dark souls 3 on 11.4.2016 and activated on my account. So then my brother also wanted dark souls 3 and i wanted to buy it for him (15.42016). he told me the key i gave him was invalid and to check it out i tried using the key knowing that steam normally wouldn't give me the game twice.
Well now the game has been added twice to my library and i paid 80€ for nothing.

My Question is can i get an extra key or can you somehow retrieve the key i used and give it to my brother's steam account?

Solved:
After submitting a ticket to the Steam Support they removed the key from my account and made the key usable again

i dont think its possible to activate a game u own but it can maybe happen if key version is diff and the one own is diff and also in some cases like key version is global and the on in your acc is region locked and stuff but well no way to make a key unused when its used,

If you bought the game from steam you can request a refund. Since you mention a game key I'm assuming you bought it from somewhere else though, and if that's the case you can't get any help from steam; once a key is activated it's permanently linked to that account.

I only see Dark Souls 3 in your library once. Is it possible that you activated it on your brother's account after all?

Yes i'm sure. Also I may have said it awkward but what i meant was: It didn't add the game twice on my account but I activated it twice on my account making 1 key void.

its clear now its diff versions as i said one is pre purchase there is nothing you can do now.
+next time carefull wile posting details ur username etc is clearly visible.

Where did you get the key from? I assume you didn't buy it on Steam, because normally you'd purchase the game for someone else on Steam itself, without getting a key to give to them.

Retail and CD Key.
And it was possible since one was a preorder edition and one was not.
I also know that it's normally not possible to activate a game twice.
But somehow i think this is related to this preorder edition and normal edition. Both keys are also deluxe editions.
also you can see it in my post before that i activated it twice one at 11.4 and one today (15.4)

Asdfplaya was my original name anyway so you can also see it on my profile page when you click on the little arrow besides my name which shows aliases
