Screen starts flickering and it gets worse over time
Hello,

Since a couple of days I have a problem with my laptop. Everytime I play a game the screen begins to flicker after a couple of minutes. First it is just once a minute, than it happens more often and eventually the game in unplayable, resulting in me quitting the game. I can force it by pressing the windows key on my laptop.

Games that certainly have this problem are Rocket League and Cities: Skylines.

Specs:
CPU: Intel I5-6300HQ
GPU: NVIDIA GTX 950M
8GB DDR4 Ram
(Acer V5-591G-562R)

If you guys need anything more please ask and I hope you can help me

Flickering in what way? You have to be more elaborate if you want help.
First the screen just turns black for a couple of milliseconds. Than minutes later horizontal stripes start to appear.
That sounds like overheating. What are the temperatures of your CPU and videocard while that happens?
I don't think that is the problem. I have played for example RL en Cities Skylines for more 70 hours and I never had this problem before.

But if it is, where can I find a good program to measure the GPU temperature?

Okay so I started Cities Skylines and paused the game. When I came back the screen was flickering and I closest the game. According to gpuz the GPU becomes 88 degrees. I think this is too much but I am not really into this stuff. So if it is too much, how can I fix this on my laptop?

That's ridiculously high. It'll actually shut down at 90. Get one of those coolers to sit your laptop on.

Do you have any idea why it happens? Previously I always was able to play the games without any problems

Not overheating. That's just showing you that GPU is slowly dying.

GPU's die fast if they're not cleaned, cooled properly. It just melts itself.

Oh that's not cool :( I think I will have my laptop checked when I have time for it and in the meantime I'll try to not use the GPU too much

Better get it in repair. Although you can blame company for that. They created microwave instead of laptop. (Heh.)

If it's shut down in device managment it can't get any worse right?

PC will stop working. Don't do it.
