Hi, I just bought Arma 3 Apex, but how do I download/install it?

if u own arma 3, should auto update/install, check the arma 3 dlc list in your library

Thanks, yes I've been playing AA3 for years and it's in my library as 'installed'.
Arma 3 Apex is in there too but reads 'Arma 3 Apex not installed'.
I remember after buying it I was asked something like "how do you want to install it?' and I clicked 'Remote download' without knowing what that meant, duh, did i do wrong?

Remote download: Request download from another device which will start downloading which in your case was Arma III: Apex on your PC if Steam client is working.

If it's DLC then it should be in the DLC panel on the ARMA 3 entry in your Library. It should also be ticked and marked as installed - if it's not then tick it and verify your game cache if necessary.

Here's how the screen looks, it says 'Not installed' for Apex, I click on it but nothing happens, or am i clicking in the wrong place?

I suspect Apex might be downloading in the background because there's an untitled download bar at the bottom of the screen that's slowly filling up. I'll give it another hour or so to see what happens.

If you click on that then it will take you to the Downloads page where you can see what you're getting.

Okay thanks, Apex seems to have downloaded alright, but I wish Steam had plastered a big message on screen saying "DOWNLOADING / INSTALLING NOW" so I'd have been in no doubt..:)

If it isn't downloading, uncheck the ckeckbox (between Not installed and Added {date}) to the right of the specific DLC in the DLC section on your library page; then recheck it. It should start downloading.

Incidentally some game downloads from Steam are very long, taking literally HOURS to download, so perhaps some people mistakenly think the downloading process has crashed or something..
