Unable to copy files from one computer to another

So a while ago I downloaded Undertale onto my pc and I got pretty far in it. Then that PC got pretty badly broken, keyboard doesn't work, random things will just stop working out of nowhere such as wi-fi and volume but anyway I have a new PC laptop now. I went to play Undertale on my new PC but when I opened it all of my progress was gone. I used a USB drive to replace the C:\Program Files(x86)\Steam\SteamApps\Common\Undertale folder on my new computer with the one on my old one (a process that had worked in the past when the same thing happened with Super Meat Boy), but when I reopened Steam to play Undertale all of my progress in the game was still gone. Does anyone know how to fix this?

You copy the save file over.

The C:/Users/<YOUR USERNAME>/AppData\Local thing didn't work but thanks anyways. I already asked this same question the in Undertale forums but I haven't gotten any responses yet. And by saying it's a "special snowflake with saves" does that mean that the files work drastically differently than other games?
