Reinstall steam.
and I can't shut down my computer if I try running steam?
It was working fine until the Creator's update dropped.
I've reinstalled steam, but it opens and for a split second it shows the login page.
Then closes straight away after.
First, I set the Steam exe file to run in Compatibility Mode. You right click the file, click Properties, then Compatibility, and make sure that the Compatibility box (I forget exactly what it says) is checked. That didn't get it to load by itself.
The second thing I did was to disable all of my antivirus protection, Windows Firewall and my personal antivirus software. Once I did that, it finally loaded and let me log in. I don't know if that was the only thing that it needed, or if it was a combination of that and "Compatibility Mode." After I logged in and re-downloaded one of my games, I turned the antivirus on and downloaded another to ensure I could, and it worked. Then turned on my Windows Firewall and downloaded another game - that worked too.
I'm going to try also unchecking "Compatibility Mode" for Steam after this, if it ends up messing with things I'll try to remember to update this. Hope this helps you guys.
