Old nickname display missing
I do not see my previous nickname used in Steam. It only shows me my current nickname. Is it a suspicious behavior ?

couldn't begin to guess on a private profile

That's not suspicious at all considering your alias/name history is logged on Valve's servers, not by your client nor controlled by your client. If you change your name it is logged under aliases, which is the most your client can do. Since your alias history shows no changes, it can't be deemed as suspicious behavior on your Steam account.

The only time aliases/name changes would induce a suspicion of a hijacked account is if you had logged name changes that you did not conduct and were listed on your account's alias history.

So when I click on the little arrow to the right of my screen name on my profile page, it shows me "this user has used the following aliases" with only my current nickname and not the old. And this is normal? Sorry but I do not understand ...

Have you changed your username more than the logged aliases the Steam Client provides you when viewing that menu? It only displays the name changes that you have done.

T.Hawk is only my second nickname used. I have made only one change. Before it was my first and original alias.

Thank you for taking the time to answer.

this is most likely. we see it all the time, people create a very similar account by accident.

I can be misspoke, sorry.
I just changed my nickname account once, not my account name.
Silicon Vampire May 22, 2016 @ 10:00pm
you can not change account name at all. only the profile name...

lots of similar profile names:

I think you're off topic Silicon.

So I can't see my old nickname as I can see the others. Excuse me, but there is something I don't understand.

It's interesting I don't see your other public names. I checked my private alt account's name history and definitely could see that.

Doesn't display here either,
http://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561197976099833/namehistory

I don't think the account name (the original name) ever displays in that log for security reasons. Could it be that?

Try changing your name once more and see if there's a log.

Ok, so I changed the nickname and I see the second and the new but not the first. That's what I want to understand and I think there is a suspicious behavior here. Someone can explain me clearly. Is my account was hijacked or something ?
Silicon Vampire May 23, 2016 @ 6:29pm
afaik, the history holds the last 10 names and the earliest only gets removed if you change the name for the 11th time. If this is how it works and I've never seen any evidence to the contrary, there is only one reason for your conundrum: You are logged in to an alternate but similar account.

Was the first nickname the name you see here too?
https://store.steampowered.com/account/

Or was it something you had manually set yourself?

Because unless I remember wrong, the first nickname is the same as your account name; and does not display upon change due to security reasons.

First, thank you again for the answers you provide guys.

Silicon >> I only have one account, an old account , 10 years old.

Teutep >> in the link you provide, I see the name of my account and not the pseudo. And the name of my account was different from my first nickname (which I can not see anywhere now).
