I can't recieve SMS messages from Steam
I'm trying to set up the steam guard mobile authenticator. I already have a phone number on my account from beforehand, but when I try to set up steam guard it wants to send an SMS code to my phone. Fine, expect I never actually get an SMS. I get nothing. Any ideas?

Same here, been trying to change my mobile number and asks for the SMS but I get nothing and when I tried to resend I think 4 times it says "Please wait for a little while before re-sending" and I have been waiting for a day, also in steam mobile when I press Add Authenticator it says "Sorry, there was an error when we tried to access your Steam Guard status. I'm guessing maybe steam is having a problem. SMH

You should remove the old number you have on account of before and can do it with the authentication code that give you early, or try uninstalling the app steam. :hat1:

I'm not receiving SMS messages!
If you are unable to receive SMS messages from Steam, check with your wireless provider that your wireless account is allowed to receive them. Our text messages can come from a 6 digit phone number, please ensure that your provider supports this. Steam will also stop sending SMS messages if too many have been sent to you, so waiting a few minutes to an hour may allow messages to come through again. You should also check to make sure that your phone's inbox is not full.
Same problem I’m trying to add it to trade with players but I never got any sms message my phone is a hand me down any tips that can help?
In case someone visits the thread again: I had the same problem. I removed the authenticator form my other phone and added to my next device, but it wouldnt send the sms to my new number to establish the auth. Then I tried it on my old device, the SIM card still plugged in, and it received the sms instantly. Probably, Steam has some sort of protection mechanism where it refuses to send the sms to a phone if it doesnt have the same number, or it is just a glitch/error. Anyway, be sure to put your sim card to your new device before you establish. That might solve the problem.

no it does not. just gives more cooldown on top of what is suspectedly already cooldowns from endless sms verify ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on every god darm steps. this is a worthless implementation.

at least it don't block csgo prime matchmake or currently show anything changed in dota2. i rmeembered dota 2 also had harassed users (moi but it looks generic so i suspect evryone else) about needing "a phone protected accoujnt" or whatever, to play ranked or to play in whatever pristine mode or whatever....honestly care not recall down memory shattered.,
