Connection constantly dropping from 10-12 Mb/s to 0 bytes/s

Help!
I always have 95 mbps on Speedtest.net, and internet and other stuff works fine all the time.
I only have the problem with steam, because when i try downloading something it stays on 0 bytes per second, only to rise to a maximum of 12 megabytes per second for a brief period.
What can I do?

@Preston I already contacted it and they sent me tech support, but internet is just fine. It's a steam/PC related problem.

It's still the same... while downloading a game, it first went smooth at 10,8 megabytes per second then it suddenly died on me with 0 bytes/sec downloading speed, that rises occasionally.
I did speedtest before and after and it has always been 95 mega.
What now?

Are you using ethernet (hardwired) or wifi?

Also check the download server in the steam download settings and select another region. It doesn't have to be the the closest 1 just pick another location as a test.

@erλm I always use ethernet.
I previously attempted to change region to switzerland and other countries near mine (italy), but to no avail. I'll try that again though, thanks.

I switched to France (Paris) and it went smooth, and the download accelerated to 4,3 mb (it always accelerates slowly) then it dropped.
One curious thing is that the download STOPS for 5-10 mins at the end (it also did the other days), so I definetely think it's not connection related.

I know my usual download speed because i used to have smooth download few days ago.
I didn't install the optic fiber for a lot though.

This problem is so frustrating, and downloads that would usually take 15-20 minutes end up making me wait a hour and half because they continuosly stop to 0 bytes.

EDIT: downloads go smooth for the majority of the time at 10 mb/s, but they stop at the last bit, and this is a thing that never happened before.

Try refreshing the steam files. This is a good option to make sure nothing on steam is causing the issue.

You will not lose any game files or downloads. Make sure you follow all the steps.
