Can I backup and replace Dark Souls III saves?
On Dark Souls 3 i have a character that i use for PVP, they are sl 120 and i was wondering if i wanted to try new builds could i copy my current save then respec my character at rosaria, then when i'm done replace the save with the one i copied earlier. effectively not having used any of the 5 respecs you have from rosaria. Could you do this? if you do will you be banned? i don't know and if anyone knows i would appreciate any info.

According to PC Gaming Wiki:

Dark Souls III does not have cloud save support, so the developer has no idea what you are doing with your saves. Nor do I think Steam even allows developers to ban players from single player content, only from multiplayer.

That being said, there should be no reason why you cannot backup the save and then replace it later.

ok awesome! i guess as the game is primarily singleplayer and the multiplayer is just a side thing, i assume this would work. i heard a lot of people talk about editing saves but i just wanted to be sure. cheers for the reply.

I've read people getting soft banned for backup their saves in Dark Souls 2 and some people have claimed the same stuff in Dark Souls 3.

Because it's seen as cheating and could be used to dupe items.

ok, ill do more research on the subject. seems odd that From are soft banning people for backing up saves when they seem to say to the players '' Recieved a hacked item that caused you to be banned? Don't have evidance to suggest you didn't hack the item? why didn't you back up your save then?''
