About Region restrictions
So today I just noticed that Steam restricts gifts purchased in SE Asia to regions in SE Asia, and people outside of SE Asia can't redeem these gifts. I also noticed that if they do redeem it somehow (VPN, going to one of the countries for a while) they won't be able to play it once they're no longer in the right region.

Most of my games here are bought through one of my friends and one of the oh so many online traders. So most of my games are actually from "Gifts" activation-wise.

Now my question is, if for some reason I need to move abroad, outside of SE Asia, will I still be able to play these "Gifted" games? Store bought ones are safe from what I know, but the gifted ones are kind of shaky.

I'm legitimately concerned about my library suddenly going up in smokes if that ever happens, so any help and info is appreciated! :dante:

The games should includes a message telling you whether they are play/region locked before you redeem them, but I do not believe you will be able to play the gifted games if you move outside your current region.

Well I don't really remember any play restrictions when I redeemed them. Just an activation restriction. I could just be careless though. Thanks for the info!
