Playing offline and online mode.
Hello.

I just wanted to ask a simple question. With one account, is it ok to play a game in offline mode while playing in online mode in another pc?

I know it can be done, but I don't know if it's permited. I'm asking bc sometimes my little brother plays some games with my account and while he plays I can't play at all.

It is not possible at all. The account can only be logged into one pc at a time. I tried it on my desktop and laptop and it logged me out of either one when I logged into the other. Steam Family sharing allows the account to be logged into the pc's at the same time but still only one person can play it

I think OP is asking whether or not it's ethical of him to play on one of his Steam -accounts in OFFLINE mode while the other one is ONLINE. Therefore playing different games on the same Steam -account at the same time.

Besides, logging on your account from two computers should be possible, since Steam In-Home Streaming is a thing.

How do I use it?
  1. Login to the Steam client on two computers on the same network with the same account.
  2. Go to the computer where you want to play and start playing your game.

I know what he is asking. I just dont see how it is possible when it doesnt work for me. Logging in one device logs me out of another

But he's not asking whether he can be online from two locations at once? That aside, simultaneous logging worked fine for me when I last did it in local area network though.

*Shrugs*

I know what he was asking--yet again. I dont think it is right to do so since it has nothing to do with streaming

Well, that's what I'm asking. I don't know if it's right to do so.

I'm not going to say it's ethical, but I wouldn't expect to get punished doing that either.
