NEW WINDOWS INSTALL BUT WITH DOTA FILES ON THE OTHER DRIVE
Hi guys, this is not new to me but I have been having this issue where, everytime I fresh install my windows OS, I have to redownload the entire DOTA 2 files. I don't have any problems with it, however it becomes a bit pain in the "A" if you are on a part where 10KBps is ON. So, I brought my DOTA 2 installed files along with me to my province, and reformatted my old PC (which still can handle dota 2 med settings) installed win 10, download steam, but I am a bit lost in terms of how to run this dota 2 game without me redownloading........ I was able to do it before, but I can't seem to recall how I did it quite a few times last year.. Can anyone point me to something? Thanks..:steamsad:

You can make a backup of your game(before reformating yur pc though...) to install it from these files again.
In your Case start the download and stop it after it started, close Steam and put your old folder in the new generated one. Let steam check the integrety of your game afterwards.
Not sure if this solves the problem
If you reset your Computer again make a backup of your Steam libary first it saves time:P

Yeah.. I think that's what I did last year. But like I said, I have gone to a computer where all I have is the dota 2 installed files..with the sluggest internet in the world. 10KBps at it's peak. On the other hand, I ended bringning the computer to a much reliable internet speed and downloaded the rest.. took like about 3 hours download thoug.

Copy the dota 2 folder to steam/steamapps/common then install it will detect the files and it will say discovering existing files

Acknowledge.. I will try that next time... To my recollection I tried that.. but, it could be that I copied it in the wrong folder.
