No Phone
Hello, I have 22 games purchased in the past. I just attempted to purchase a few DLC's for Warlock2. It will not allow me to buy them due to not having a phone. I actually prefer not having a phone and will cease purchasing anything if I "for the sake of my safety" I am forced to obtain one. I do not trade nor gift. I buy games I will enjoy playing is all. In many I also purchase DLC's to have a richer game play. The way I see it I am no longer able to "improve" my enjoyment without a phone. Hmmmm.
I do understand their concern for our safety. However I do not condone being forced. What this primarily means is I will then have to seek games that I will purchase direct from the game makers. I do not trust for the most part the mods available thru the workshops, not do to their possiblity of being viral but because I have had too many gameplays ruined by changes to the mods I used in the past which blasted some very good play into a mess. :)
I am 66 years old, and soon to retire. I like gaming and am strictly PC oriented. Am I a dinasaur....yep. Happily so.
I am not sure how to get around this situation. I have a bit invested in my games but the most valuable investment is my time. One thing for sure is I do not have any plans on getting any phone type device,

What exactly does the error message say when you try to purchase the DLC? To the best of my knowledge there is no requirement to use the mobile app in order to make purchases.

But like Glimmer said, as far as I know a phone number IS NOT required to make a purchase.

The message is "Please enter your Account Billing Phone Number, including Area Code" Kinda hard to do.

That sounds like its for you credit card info, what number do you have associated with your credit card?

I just tried inputting my information leaving the phone number field out and it refused with the same error.

It's hardly news that shops of all kinds want a phone number and it's usually no problem as having a phone number is normal while not having one is not.

Your could of course simply enter random numbers...

@Teutep Yes that is the field I am referring to. Thanks. As far as I can recall I do not have a phone number linked to my account. I had a phone about 3 years or so ago, but it broke in two, have had a war with Verison since. I have looked at my Manage Account settings but do not see anything conerning a phone number.

Situation fixed. Thanks to Discussions_Acc concerning random numbers, I just entered all 0's and viola. Success. Thanks to all of you for the assistance.
