DirectX 12 causing lag?
I've just built a new rig and am running Windows 10. When I first started running it normally, after all updates, I noticed a lot of lag. After a lot of troubleshooting I then realized that the only place this lag was showing itself was in anything that uses DirectX like Steam and also streaming through certain web players on Chrome (Edge seems to work fine with those same web players). Does anyone have advice or possible solution this issue? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

My Rig;
I7 4790K
Asus GTX 970 OC 4gb
16gb Ram
Windows 10

Its very unlikely that DirectX 12 has anything to do with that. DirectX 12 is only available for a handful of games at the moment on Steam and those have to be installed and running for DirectX 12 to be even active. Lag in the Steam client or in some broswer cant have anything to do with DirectX.

Cool, it's just the only common factor I could dicern. I know it isn't a hardware issue, I ran a hard drive from another one of my computer's and all my games and everything ran perfectly, that hard drive runs Windows 7, I'm new to Windows 10 and am unaware of common issues with this OS.
So then are there any suggestions as to what the issue may be? All of my games lag at about the same rate, almost as if I'm playing in stop motion, despite the varried system reqs or if I run them at highest graphics capacity or lowest.

Did you install the newest Windows 10 graphic card drivers for your system? It sounds like your PC uses the inbuild graphic chip of your I7 ( Intel Hd series) instead of the true GPU , your GTX 970.
When i switched to Windows 10 i had the same problem as you till i installed the newest Windows 10 Nvidea drivers from their page. After that , everything was fine.
