Steam Username Capitals Log-in Issue

[IIJAMES1997II]

So, many years ago I created a steam account with the same name (Login name) as the one I have now, except the two 'I's are lowercase ('i's)

The one I use now I login using IIjames1997II, the other one, you logged in using iijames1997ii. Now this was fine until i changed my password as the steam mobile authenticator wouldn't let me log in.

After this event every time I try to log in using IIjames1997II it takes me to the account of iijames1997ii as i'm assuming that the steam login does not recognise capitals.

I have reset my password on both accounts to no avail, even changing the email but I cannot log into my active account on the actual steam app, only on the web browser due to the information being saved.

This is a problem as all my inventory/steam wallet funds are now lost unless I can transfer them without being on the actual app where games are played. If there any way I can delete the old account, or any way that I can log in to my active account since steam does not recognise the two usernames as different ones, they are practically identical, just caps are different which steam does not recognise....Thanks

What I'm thinking is you're confusing display and login names. You can have two of the same display name, but there is no way you can have two of the same account name.

Capitalization enabled or not, it is not possible to have two accounts under the same account name.

Confirm from your e-mail receipts that you're inputting the correct account name, or use this:

Copy paste the "x's" account without the apostrophe and the s to the client login window and attempt login.
