Steam asks for password and mobile auth EVERY TIME
As the title says, I am on ONE PC and Steam always needs my password after every restart. I have checked the box for it to remember my password. Afterwards I naturally need to put in my Steam mobile authenticator code every time. This is super annoying.

I have also NOT checked the box in settings "don't store credentials on this computer", so it's not that.

Any other solutions?

It does that. Every time you turn your pc on you have to prove it is you accessing your account. It only remembers you while you have the pc on in one session.

Not on the client, it shouldn't.

I've had 2FA since it got out and I've not had to apply the code at login since I first input it and stored my credentials.

OP, see if there's anything here:

Definitely hasn't for me.

You need to store the credentials if you don't want to input Steam Mobile Authenticator code every login attempt.

I thought it was normal. XD It happens to my friends too. I'll have to let them know.

Could not really find anything. I do not believe it is caused by another program on startup since even when i close steam manually, i have to sign in again the same computer...

I wonder if it has anything to do with steam not running at startup? It wouldn't be that would it?

You could try nonetheless.

Here's another way to troubleshoot it
https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=8043-EUJN-5239

Should the issue not surface while on selective startup, then it could be caused by something that's otherwise launched and running.

I've had it ticked and unticked for troubleshooting purposes and it hasn't led me to have to re-enter my login information.

Currently unticked.

Could it be because of multiple profiles in the client? I share the computer. That seems more likely to me. Thanks for your input, Teutep.

If you use [Change User...] on the Steam -client, then that would cause it, yes.

I don't usually use Change User unless I'm turning the pc over to the next user. Usually I just turn it off and relog when it comes back on. :(

Try clicking [Steam > Exit] on the top left or your Steam -client.

Then launch Steam again.

If it tosses you to the login menu, then it's likely something interfering; or the credentials have not been stored.

If it signs you in, then it's probable that the other users on your computer sign you out with the [Change User...] to log on their accounts with.

Delete clientregistry.blob from your steam files , dont know where it is tho , just seach for it with CTRL+F ----- this worked for me , hope it helps , never had this problem for 5 years and it suddenly started happening after the last steam update for me.
