SKyrim wont start the application was unabe to start correctly

ok i ordered skyrim legendery edition and got it today not in steam not steam game but i tried running it and it says the aplicationw as unabe to start correctly so i used quicksfv and it said my steamapi_.dll wasnt installed so i installed it 64 bit version btw my pc is 64 bit and i have windows 10 so i did all of it and scanned again and it still said its missing btw my game is installed on d drive not c so i tried starting the game and it still didnt work so what can i do to fix it i really want to get it working please help i aready uninstaleld it and reinstalled it

if you bought skyrim then you have to play it on steam.
do you have the cd key?

As Hotsauce said... there is no such thing as a legitimate copy of Skyrim that is non-Steam. All (pc) versions of Skyrim require Steam unless its on a console (thus non-pc).

even if you buy Skyrim from Amazon, or some other retailer or real life shop (if you bought a legitimate copy)... the game still must be activated through Steam.

Activate the game on Steam.

Your retail copy should've come with a Steam -key, as the game is a Steamworks DRM -game.

There is no non-Steam version of the game.
