did you install the crack properly ? :)
even if you buy Skyrim from Amazon, or some other retailer or real life shop (if you bought a legitimate copy)... the game still must be activated through Steam.
Your retail copy should've come with a Steam -key, as the game is a Steamworks DRM -game.
There is no non-Steam version of the game.
