Steam Guard - Want the protection, but disable the "approve sale" confirmation
Steam Guard - Want the protection, but disable the "approve sale" confirmation

Want to keep the overall account protection, but once I validate to login, I want to be able to sell stuff without having to get out my phone every 2 seconds. I sell a lot on the marketplace.

unfortunately you canno turn off the "approve sale" part of Steam Guard at all.
And if you turn off Steam Guard entirely (in an attempt to avoid that approval thing) you will find can't sell on the Market *at all*. Because you need Steam Guard on to sell on the Community Market.

Wow. That's overly restrictive, and "big brother" of them.

Additionally, I just changed my password which required steam guard authentication and now I cant sell on the market for 5 days. This is all ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ tbh.

If you can't sell on the market for 5 days.. then you didn't change your password you reset your password or did password recovery.. ~ those things cause the 5 days issue.

if you merely change your password (NOT reset, and NOT recovery) you shouldn't have gotten that 5 day wait.

And i do agree the approval-of-sales thing is annoying.. especially when you're selling something for a few cents. But.. i guess Valve is doing it due to way too much scamming and theft and stuff that had been going around.. so now it's super strict to do everything.

sorry didnt know there was a difference between changing and resetting. both required authentication tho from steam guard... so once i authenticate, i shouldnt need to be push on a 5 day block. i could see it if i didnt need to authenticate... but since i had to, they KNOW it was me...

That's a fair point.

i guess making you wait the 5 days anyways makes sense to Valve.. or someone at Valve.. even if it doesn't make as much sense to us.
