IP from logging into account?
Just out of curiosity, say I logged into my friends steam account, would there be any way of him getting my IP just from me logging on?

No, I don't believe so, but:
A. Why are you worried about your "friend" getting your IP?
B. Logging into someone else's account is a breach of the SSA.

Yes. The next time he logs into his account he will be notified that his account was logged into another place, including the IP.

Anyway, sharing accounts is a gross violation of the Steam Subscriber Agreement aka Terms of Service.

"Just out of curiosity". I know some games have a "You last logged in from XXX.XXX.X.XX"

Your so-called "Friend" Steam Account will keep a record of IP Address and Location.

Steam Guard will show an "Authorised Device List" which can clearly show all and even kick them off.

Even these forums records your hidden IP Address to each post. It's a way to keep any web server safe and secure from unauthorised access. Track hackers activates and changes, or a spam bot, etc.

But is it accessible by the user or only by steam itsself? Does the "Authorized Device List" show the pc "nickname" or IP?

https://store.steampowered.com/account/managedevices
it doesn't seem to show IP
But..
as others have asked.. why are you so paranoid about a *friend's* computer having your IP? What would a legitimate *friend* do with that information that you're so scared about? O.O?

How many times do I have to say "Just out of curiosity"?? I haven't shared an account before (obviously or I wouldnt need to ask questions) and I don't plan on it...
