When downloading a game my pc fan turns on
is that ok?

If you have a antivirus program installed its scanning the files while they are being downloaded.
That takes CPU power. That heats up the CPU. That makes the pc turn up the fans.
So yeah, thats pretty normal.

Your fan generally turns on when your system senses heat thresholds, downloads do increase CPU and RAM utilization which causes heat to be increase versus doing nothing.

So in general it's "okay". Find a utility on the web that can give you your system temp and you'll see it spike under things like installations and playing also.

Your fan turning on for any reason is ok. Its doing what its supposed to do.
