Steam Skins
Hi all, I've seen in my Steam settings that I can change my Steam Skin, but as only option I have "default".
I've looked for some skins around, but there are no Official Skins. now the question is: how does it works?
can I download skins from other sites?
In this case, are they secure?
thx a lot.

Yes, you can download steam client skins from other websites. There is one called metro which is what I use. All you have to do is download a skin, extract it to the skins folder in the steam folder and then go into settings, choose the skin and restart steam.

I use PixelVision 2.

There's other skins such as Metro for Steam (mentioned above), Compact UI, Air, Pressure.

As said above, the folder is extracted under Steam\skins\ and is enabled via [Steam > Settings > Interface]

Some mods (definitely not all) require you to insert the included font file under C:\Windows\Fonts\ and you to enable DirectWrite for improved font smoothing and kerning under [Steam > Settings > Interface]
