Losing Progress on download after shutting down computer
I recently wanted to download a game and I had confiremd that after closing the computer and reopening it the download will resume from the time it had stopped but instead my whole progress went back to around 100 MB again. Is there a reason/solution to this.

It was somewhere around 2k mb, the game was path of exile. I closed steam before closing my comp, I forced shutdown my comp because skype usually stays active and it never said anything about steam (steam wasn't active in the background), could that possibly be the reason why it didn't save?

yah mostly this happen if there is new game update etc or you shut down your pc like that also skype do bother with steam downloads if you want to resume it pause ur download now.

then go to program files/steam/steam apps / download then copy that 238960 folder to desktop
and rename it Path of Exile then delete your download and game
then go to steam/steam apps/common folder and paste then Path of Exile folder there
try to install your game now it will discover all files you downloaded and download the rest ah i hope u get it.

By deleteing the download and the game you mean delete downloading folder and the game from downloading (in steam program)

try to pause the download then resume ?or i guess the folder u backup there is nothing inside it did u try to reinstall it after ur game progress reset?if yes old files maybe deleted already

The folder contains data worth 9GB (info I got when copying it to desktop). I am not too sure when I put the file in common but this time for sure I put the path of exile file after deleting local files and it happened again.
