What did those recent posts say? That topic is a year old. Some people like to post garbage replies to really old messages for no reason, so I can see why they would delete the garbage and lock it.
Don't remember what they said, it probably wasn't too super important, but still, there was no need to lock the thread, or to even delete those posts. Just because a thread is a year old, is not a reason. Nor because people contributed something relivant to the post after it being a year old. I still haven't found out the real answer to the original question really, and now the thread is locked? Just doesn't make sense....
First time this has ever happened
Since the actual discussion has been dead for a year, its safe to assume its dead indeed so the thread gets locked so its old state can be preserved without morons further damaging it.
I've seen it happen quite a bit. People digging up dead threads and replying with nonsense or trying to turn the thread into something other than the OP intended. Generally, it's frowned upon and moderators take action to keep things current.
There is nothing to prevent somebody from searching the archives to find your thread and enjoy your posts.
The problem isn't that people cant search for the thread. The problem is that the question is not answered properly. I never did get a 100% answer on that, and now since they locked it, who knows. I was hoping a Steam moderator, or some other Steam "rules and regulations" official, could tell me the definitive answer to my question at some point.
Now it may never get answered...
I see your point. Perhaps open up a new thread and explain your question hasn't been answered yet?
