GTA 5 taking days to download

so i just got gta 5 and it is downloading it and i have the dell inspiron 7559 the i7 version thought it might have to do somthing wih the download speed and it will go in between 11 hours and over a year i plugged my laptop into my router to see if it would download faster and it says the same does anyone know how to fix this or why it is so slow

It's over 60 GB, did you expect GTA V to be 1 GB?

I think it's the largest download on Steam. Before GTA contenders were around 20-30 gigs then on release day everyone totally flipped out. It was pretty fun. I did the whole wait then decided I wanted it on an SD card, thought I could drag and drop, ahh fun times.

GTA 5 is one of the biggest games on all of Steam. I would recommend 3 things;
1.) Reset your router (if you haven't already).
2.) Just wait. It will happen eventually.
3.) A long term solution to this all (if you have the money) is getting a new router or pc. I am not saying get one now, I'm just thinking it would be better in the long run, just in case you want to download other massive games.

Download speed depends on several differen factors. The most important being your internet speed.
