Game will not start, comp encrypted with Veracrypt
Dead Before Daylight has the free weekend for a few more hours. I want to try it, but whenever I try to start the game, Steam merely states that there was a problem and directs me to a list of possible causes, like firewalls etc. I have no other firewall besides the Windows Firewall, but my system is entirely encrypted using Veracrypt. While Veracrypt states that using the files should be as normal, could the encryption still be the reason for this issue? Does anyone play on encrypted computers? Help?

Unlikely to cause such issues, although accessing those files may be a tad slower, it shouldn't cause problems like that.

What is the exact error message?

That's good to hear. Then my next problem is to really figure out what the problem is... Steam isn't being helpful in the slightest...

You aren't that helpful either right now.

A fair point. Ok to elaborate: I reformatted my comp a few days ago and encrypted it. I used Slimdrivers to d/l (hopefully) all needed drivers. These inculded ethernet, audio and video drivers. All other drivers I assume came through Windows Update (win10), as they seem ok in Device Manager. I then downloaded Steam and redownloaded Warhammer Vermintide, which I had bought earlier. It works without a hitch, so all's good there. Then I try Dead Before Daylight and get the instant error. It says (translated from Finnish) "Error: There was an error starting the game. Please see the below link for more details: https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=9828-SFLZ-9289

The link is in Finnish, but basically it explains how firewalls, spyware and malware can be a detriment. I highly doubt they are the source of the problem. I even added both Steam and Dead Before Daylight as exceptions to Windows Defender, as well as running Steam's file integrity check on the game. It found no faults.
