Looking for a great single player game to get lost in...

I realize this is kind of ridiculous to ask but I'll ask it anyways. I'm looking for suggestions on a great single player game, preferrably one with RPG elements, that I can sink dozens-to-hundreds of hours into.

I've been spending a lot of money on games and most seem to be indie games that are good, but only for so many hours and then it's on to the next one. I'm looking for a similar playstyle experience to the likes of Skyrim. Where I can make a character and get lost in my own character developement. Anything with a deep game to get lost into.

Lately Steam has turned into Netflix for me, where I spend more time looking for something new to play than I do actually playing anything and it's gotten a bit frustrating. So there it is. What games have you shamelessly dumped hours into?

Dragon Age Origins or Elder Scrolls Oblivion. Lots of hours in those. Witcher 3 is great, but you can't make your own character
