Ping is low, fps is good, still lagging
Just for the past couple days, whenever I try to play a multiplayer game (like CS:GO or Dirty Bomb), I keep getting constant stutters that mess with my game and occur without end. I've taken both the speed test and ping test and am getting perfectly normal (if not above average) results.

I'm on wi-fi without an ethernet cable as one is not available. I've never had this issue before these past couple days. Any ideas?

What's your ping in-game when the stutter is happening?

It depends what game. But usually 30-50, and on CSGO I used netgraph showing no lag spikes
Fair enough. Are you using v-sync?

Ah yeah I think so for CS:GO, but not sure for the other games
So basically the way v-sync works is, it will attempt to output the same number of frames per second as your refresh rate (usually 60.) However if your GPU cannot output enough frames, v-sync will display the same frame multiple times until a new frame is ready. This can result in a stutter effect that sort of resembles lag.

Okay, I'll turn it off. So with the games where V-Sync is turned off any ideas?
Dropped packets, maybe? Or the other user lagging (the server can only update you on another player's position and actions as often as they update the server.)

How can I see if it's the packet drop? Because no one else is lagging or complaining about lag on the servers I'm on
Hold down the Windows key and press R. In the dialog box type "cmd" and press enter. In the new window type

ping google.com -n 32

And press enter. This will run for a bit. When it's finished, there will be some text including packets sent, received, and lost. The percentage of lost packets is what you are interested in.

0% packet loss
Then I'm completely at a loss. I'm very sorry. Hopefully a more veteran user can assist you.

Thanks for your help anyway :)
