Geometry Dash lost data
My son has the game set up on his pc and recently his phone. When he set it up on his phone he used the same account but didn't import the data from the pc. He saved the phone data to the cloud overriding all the save progress from the pc. When back on the pc it gave the error 'something went wrong'. Instead of logging out and back in, he unlinked the account accidentally. He had a ton of progress including several defeated demon levels and created levels he hadn't yet uploaded. Is there anyway to get back his completed progress? Is it saved locally on the pc anywhere?

I'm not sure how cloud sync works across platforms, but most games do in fact keep two separate saves. One on each PC, the other on Steam's servers. When a discrepancy is detected between the two, Steam will ask you if you want to replace the server version or the PC version.

However, Geometry Dash does not appear to support Steam Cloud whatsoever, based on the store page and the PC Gaming Wiki[pcgamingwiki.com] article for the game.

I'll look over the wiki. I know computers, but not much about how geometry dash works. He said it never asked him about which version to replace. The save data he has on the pc now is the exact stuff he had completed on the phone

My best guess would be the game uses cloud saving, but not through Steam. That's purely conjecture though.

That is what happens. It uses some sort of cloud in order to play cross platform. I found robtop games support email and sent an email. Here's hoping something can be done.
