Steam Recurring Payment???
I just got an email from my bank notifying me of a zero/negative balance thanks to overdraft protection trying to shield me from a $9.99 "CARD RECURRING PYMT". Where did this come from? And why did it pop up? I don't own any subscription based games. And if I did, I didn't authorize a re-sub? Where so I manage these subs?

This is too far steam, too far.

I'm honestly not trying to be funny, but the charge description does not even mention Steam. In any event, check your purchase history here:
https://store.steampowered.com/account/history/

And here:
https://help.steampowered.com/en/wizard/HelpWithPurchase

Finally, see the Recurring Subscriptions support article.

I didn't put the whole thing.

"STEAMGAMES.COM 07-07 425-952-2985 WA 0729 BB&T CHECK CARD RECURRING PYMT"

I did check my history. There is nothing in there that says I bought something. However for 7/28 it says "Steam" under my licenses with "complimentary" not sure what that means.

Okay, now I understand the confusion. Do you see the charge on either of the above links?

Apart from that "Steam ... Complimentary" in the licenses thing, no.

I have already looked at those links as well. My most recent steam game purchase according to my BA was on 7/7, for "Turmoil" and "Stardew Valley Soundtrack DLC"
Then I would suspect someone else is using your card on another account. It would be best to contact Steam support and explain your card was used without permission, and also talk to your bank about cancelling your card/getting a new card.

Hmm....

Well, I just want to make sure that I don't have a "recurring payment" on my account. I think it would be under account details, but there is nothing there about subscriptions.
That's where it should be, if there are any subscriptions.

Well, I see nothing for subscriptions. I'm actually looking at disputing the transaction on my bank account right now. Will this have any effect on my steam account?
Your account will not be affected, as long as you do not dispute any charges that were done on your account. The account on which your card was used will be locked. However, the card in question will no longer be usable on Steam.

I understand the temptation to do a chargeback, but I would try talking to Steam first.

Steam first, dispute later. Ok, so am I supposed to wait the 15 days they'll put me through before looking at my ticket, or what.

Well, my card was used it seems, it's associated with this account, but I didnt make the purchase.
The time varies from ticket to ticket. A lot of the time the reason tickets take so long is that people don't provide the information Steam needs up front, or spam Steam with multiple tickets/replies within a few hours.

The best thing you can do is write a concise ticket with all the relevant information. In this case that would be the nature of the problem (you were charged for a purchase you did not make.) I would provide a screenshot of the charge on your bank account, the last 4 digits of your card number (not the whole thing), and the date of the charge in question.

It may take a while for Steam to respond, or it could be in a few days. It's difficult to predict.

How do you know the charge is associated with your account? Does anyone else have access to your computer and could have made the purchase?

Well, if I wait too long, then my bank account might charge another fee thanks to that zero/negative balance. Fantastic.

No, I am the only one with access to this PC. I said the card is associated with this account. I don't know about the charge. I don't see any subscriptions, and my most recent purchase doesnt register as a subscription.
