Steam Confirmation Timezone Error
I know I really should've gotten around to the Mobile Authentication ♥♥♥♥ a while ago, but now that I have, I've ran into quite the problem. Whenever I try to confirm an item being listed or traded, an error screen pops up stating that there is a problem with the timezone on my device. The thing is though, my PC uses UTC timezones, but my Samsung uses GMT timezones, and as far as I know, there is no way to change the UTC timezone into a GMT timezone, or vice versa.. If anybody knows anything to help, it would be greatly appreciated. - Thanks

UTC and GMT are synonymous. GMT+1 is the same as UTC +1. Still, the time zones have to match. Set both have to match. Your local time zone, that is.

No, but thats what the problem is exactly. There is no option to change UTC to GMT on my PC, or to change GMT to UTC on my Samsung.

UTC is GMT!
Anyway, you have to make sure the time zone on your phone matches YOUR LOCATION! Like look up where you are (if you don't know), look up what time zone that is and set that in your phone.

So that means that if it does not matter if it is UTC or GMT, but as long as it is in the right timezone? Because here's the thing, my Eastern Standard timezone for my mobile says GMT-04:00, while on my PC the Eastern Standard timezone says UTC-05:00. So no matter if its on the same timezone its always an hour off. I did try just editing the time manually to where they match, but to no avail. And sorry if my comment came off as kind of hostile.

You're in EDT right now, that's UTC-4. Or GMT-4. In winter, you're in UTC-5. Have you set tue actual time zone right? Is the date right?

EVEN the Seconds on my PC and Mobile are Exactly the SAME
Darren Aug 27, 2016 @ 1:26am
And what is the timezone on these devices?

The time that has to be the same is the UTC time not the time being displayed to you.
ReBoot Aug 27, 2016 @ 1:26am
To more precise, the time that you see has to be identical to the time you actually really have in your location.
