start -> run/search -> mmsys.cpl
Go get the latest driver from the chipset maker (such as Realtek if you have that, like most Motherboards do) and then configure your Default Playback/Recording in Windows.
IDK about Uplay Games specifically; I have TheDivision and voice always worked on that; but again that also comes down to how you have Voice Chat setup, either in Uplay or within the said game itself.
Then go to Windows Playback/Recording and set the USB Headset as the default for both playback and recording. Then launch your app you wish to use audio and then within that apps settings, confirm the playback/recording is set properly inside there as well. Same with any games you wish to run.
Laptops do have a built-in Webcam w/ Mic; so yes this Mic is always the default one unless changed.
