Offline Mode Login Troubles
I'm trying to understand why I cannot now login to steam in offline mode. Am I now forced to have my computer remember my login name AND password in order to login to steam in offline mode?

I was aware that a recent update made it so I can't login without having it remember my login account name on the pc system, which it now does automatically and which makes my account more unsecure. Someone gets a hold of my pc and they instantly know half of my account security which is just stupid... They can't seriously want me to have the pc remember all my account information (Name AND Password) now, seriously?!?!? Am I missing something here?

Instate a password for your account and viola, whoever gets hold of your PC, won't get hold of your Steam account.

Then you will have to explain what you mean by instate because if I have the pc remember my account name and password then all they have to do is double click the steam icon on my desktop and it will log them in automatically, viola.

I am not talking about your Steam account, I am talking about your system account. Instate a password there. As for what "instate" means, https://www.bing.com/search?q=meaning+of+instate

The 4 digit pin that windows has you create is pitifully weak.

I said "password", not PIN.

This is all beside the point. I appreciate your trying to help but what you're suggesting isn't going to change the fact that there are many other things to consider, such as leaving my pc unattended and other people being about. Things happen and we're all human and subject to forget and leave things on, etc... What I'd like to know is if there is another way to play my games in offline mode besides having Steam restrict my access to them with requirements I know to be unsafe. That was the original question.

This is literally the point I'm talking about. Instate a (secure, so not "123456" nor "password") password and those other people being about your PC don't matter anymore. It's not even about your Steam games! When others get onto your PC, your email and other private data are at danger. By using a (secure) password, you're solving a bunch of problems at once, your Steam account being just one of those.

I'll just restate my original question to someone else who might care to answer it:

So, while my thread was derailed by someone trying to convince me to store passwords on my pc which I NEVER do, no matter how many people think it's safe (I mean no password is going to save you from someone getting hold of your pc while the account is logged in/open) and storing the password on the pc is just bad practice because at that point they could have access like the above person said, to all of your accounts so stored... So really he made my point but I wasn't attempting to debate security here.

My question is this; Does anyone know of a way to play in offline mode while having checked "Don't save account credentials on this computer." under Steam -> Settings, in the Account tab.
Or know why steam changed and added this feature... I mean before a couple of updates ago this was not the case and I've always been able to play in offline mode by having to enter my credentials (All of them) every time I log into ANY account. I don't do automatic logins. That's just the way I like to roll. I don't leave passwords stored on my computers, period. I would appreciate any assistance or further knowledge on that.
