What the ♥♥♥♥ is a confimation number and where can I find it? Steam apparently need a confirmation number, and kindly miss out what the hell it is and where the hell I can find it. Is it on a steam receipt? A paypal receipt? What is is?

I'm trying to remove my old phone number from my account because my old simcard broke. Now I've opened a ticket and they want a CD key, which I have access to, and a "confirmation number" I looked at an old Steam receipt and there are some codes but none of them are labelled as a confimation code and I have no idea what code they want from me.

I'm not aware of any confirmation number, they likely mean the invoice number on your receipt.

Oh lord you mean the code that it told me to never ever lose? And subsequently lost? Jesus I'm in support hell now.

You buy something online, you get a receipt with a number on it. That's the confirmation number so you can verify it against your bank/cc records.

So its the invoice code?

Yes, it would seem Valve have switched to invoice number instead of a confirmation number. I've got both in various receipts but the newer ones say invoice instead.
