When to level up Account

Heya! Over the last few weeks I gathered some Cards. When would be the best time to level up the account? Does it even matter when? During some event?

You get a card for every crafted badge during sales, but because summer sale ended few weeks ago and the next will probably be on Christmas, I would craft them now.

You really won't get anything extra if you crafted badges during a special event. Only if those cards are from the event itself. (Summer sale cards or whatever) If you have any cards from a certain game, you can craft them anytime you want.

It dousn't matter when. You level up when you earn a sertant amount of XP to earn XP one way is to craft badges. Like the majority of badges you craft by cards don't worry it will show you how many cards you will need. However there are some exclusive badges for example (Valve Employee, Volunteer Moderator, Translater, Trading Card Beta Tester, Beta Hardware Candidate, Years of Service) Some of witch are extremely hard to get. I think the Beta Hardware Candidate is actually impossible becuase it expired. You can also earn card drops through games but it is limited. I think you can also earn xp by earning achievments in games.

I would wait for the winter event.

Crafting during event = extra event trading cards = more card sets for badge = more XP.

You do not earn XP from playing games or getting achievements.

Before Steam went all crazy and disabled trading for people without mobile gadgets, I used to keep cards until the next "big" sale. During non-sale times, I would only get a worthless coupon. During a sale, I would get a sale card instead.

What do you mean? Can you explain?

i always wait for sales with trading cards (like the summer sale that just happened at the end of June) before i craft badges and have never noticed that i get "less booster packs" by doing that?

How comes you get lesser booster packs?
Do you either get a booster pack or a trading card or could you possibly get both at the same time?
