The CD Key seems new. Can it be from any game?
You can only use retail CD keys (in case of keys), because you need to take a picture of it with your account name written on top of it. You can't do this digital keys.
All other ways to proof ownership are explained on support page.
Can I still right click on Doom 3 or Battlefront 2 and use the CD Key from those?

Attach a digital photo or scan of the CD Key registered to the account"
I do not recall any retail keys being attatched to my account. All my games are digital or non-steam.
I really hope I don't need a Retail Key just to ask for help...
