steam overlay not working with origin games? (windows 10)

i tried some fixesz in the internet none of them worked, is there anything i can do? is a issue with valve? or EA?

• Origin.OFR.50.0001390 (early enlister)

• Origin.OFR.50.0001662 (ultimate)

Okay I will post MY SOLUTION here and link to here from other posts (there are far to many posts with the same problem to be found. Whoever finds this, sorry that i didn't link it everywhre...)

I have Win10x64 and wanted to stream "Star Wars Battlefront" via steam overlay.

1. enable "automatically exit Origin after closing a game"
   
2. deactivated origin overlay
   
3. Add Origin as a non-Steam game.
   
4. Right-click the newly added shortcut in Steam and select properties.
   
5. In the target box, after "C:...\Origin.exe" add a space and copy+paste: origin://launchgame/Origin.OFR.50.0000940 (no quotes). Origin.OFR.50.0000940 is the game's product ID for Origin (this can be found by going to the game's webpage at origin.com and searching the source code of the webpage for "product_ID". The whole thing that is copy+pasted is the launch protocol for Origin games (Steam uses a similar one that is utilized when you create desktop shortcuts of games).
   
6. Change name to "Star Wars Battlefront".
   
7. make sure origin is not running when you start a origin game from steam
   
8. quit steam
   
9. right-click on steam link. go to properties->compatibility and activate the Win7 compatibility mode
   
10. start steam and click on the edited origin shortcut (in steam)

That's how it worked for me. Probably not the only solution but the only one working for me I found in 2 days.

by the way, i want to find id for mass effect 3 standard version, can you show me how?

Well, can also say that it's hard to find the product_IDs ever since the Origin's Store page has changed to look alike to how it is on the (no longer beta[?]) client.

I'd just add Mass Effect 3's shortcut to Steam, exit the Origin -client, and launch both the game (and Origin) by executing the game's executable from your Steam -library. If there's no Steam -overlay, disable Origin's from its settings.

Shame yours isn't the Deluxe Edition, it still has functioning cache.[webcache.googleusercontent.com]

• right-click and choose "Inspect Element" (not view page source)
  
• there is a "Search HTML" field -> search for "offer-id"

I tried everything I could find to get the steam overlay to work with Origin games to no avail. I promise EA that I will never purchase one of their games unless and until they work with Steam overlay!!!

Yes since the update the nice closing option is gone -.-

Now to solve
Close Origin
Go to the start menu and open Run
Type in %appdata%/Origin
Open the file local_[big string of numbers and letters].xml in notepad
Add <Setting type="1" key="ShutDownOriginOnGameFinished" value="true"/>
Save the file
Set the file as read only (right click/properties)
Open Origin again and you're done

P.S I only worked when I added this inscription after this phrase and two spaces <?xml version="1.0"?> <Settings>
