i have a textNow phone number for steam authenticator what will happen if i lose it? should be worried?

The number is used for adding and removing mobile authenticator. Codes do not directly go to the number, so it's not a security risk in that way. It's still not ideal, as if you ever need to remove the mobile auth you will need to contact Steam support with proof of ownership.

I may have spoken too soon, unfortunately.

Adding a phone to your account gives you more options to recover your account in case you forget your password, or if your account is stolen. You can use SMS messaging to reset your password, or reset the Steam Guard Authenticator.

If TextNow reuses your number, and someone figures out it was tied to your Steam account, they could reset your password or remove mobile auth. Please be careful.

They cant. The chat logs get deleated when you get a new phone number.
