My mother was in surgery and the hospital for most of the sale. I didn't have time to bother with the sale until the last few days it was on.
It was a mistake on Steam's part that the purchase I made during the sale time didn't go through. In light of this I'm hoping they will make an exception.
Technically it was a mistake on your part not verifying that the purchase went through correctly.
You wouldn't walk away from a physical cash register before making sure you got your receipt and the cashier handed you your purchase - you shouldn't do it in a virtual store either.
It's the internet. Any little hiccup between here and there can cause a transaction to fail. And it doesn't even have to be Steam's fault.
I'm sorry for what you've been through and I understand your frustration - maybe Valve will make an exception. If they don't, wait for the next sale. But in the end the fault was ultimately yours and you should be sure to check your purchases next time.
Also, a little advice, don't wait until sales start before beginning to decide what's worth buying. There's no reason you couldn't have made these desicisions a month ago or more.
By your own admission you had 2 days to buy the games. You chose not to. Again that isn't Steam's fault. Its yours.
Lack of planning on your part doesn't constitute and emergency on Steam's part
Then I come here to ask how to contact them and I get: "Its your fault you ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up you idiot, how dare you ask Steam for something!"
Like these games were supposed to be the equivalent of birthday presents. Cause like I think I said I'm ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ poor and this is the only way I can afford to buy games at all. So missing this sale effectivly means I'm missing out on my birthday this year.
So could someone please explain me how the hell it is that I'M the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ in this scenario just becuase I'm disappointed that I missed my ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ birthday?
You dont realise that with this logic everyone could email Valve demanding discounts that they missed?
Sorry but thats not how RL works. You miss a sale: tough luck.
You are not an ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, just unreasonable
No one is demanding anything. I just want to ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ask them.
I don't understand why everyone has such a problem with this.
Well, starting off with "I am livid" is kind of your first problem. Your attitude sets off an antagonistic tone from the onset. Then the sob story making it sound as though you're entitled to discounts is another. Your reaction to people telling you in no uncertain terms that you won't get a discount is the third. Not being able to click the Support button and discover the ticketing system on your own is a fourth, because there is no e-mail to be had.
In any even, again, read through https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2025-HCVM-4206#missedsale again. I'll even copy it out in case it's unclear:
So, no, you're not getting the discount and contacting Steam Support will just be a waste of their and your time.
If not, then too bad.
Next sale is coming and unless he dies before the next sale where is the problem to wait for the next sale ?
