If in the device manager I click update driver software and it says everything is good then the drivers are up to date?
The only reason im asking is because I've had a bit of a problem where I updated my drivers and afterwards, when I went to AMD Radeon settings/control panel, it pops up with th error "Radeon settings are currently not available. Please try again after connecting AMD graphics"...This was a bit concerning and so now I cannot access the control panel. Online fixes did not help so I'm just a bit hesitant to brute force my way into switching graphics cards.
Why do you think your integrated gpu is causing problems?
There isn't one, I just want to access the settings to optimize some stuff and it's concerning that I can't access them...
At first i started up DS3 and i could barely move, there was immense FPS stuttering and lag and drop. Minimal settings changed nothing. I looked up stuff online and it looked like others had this problem too but their solutions didn't help. Before doing anything else I made a thread on the DS3 forums to see if my specs could even run the game (I don't have a very good rig)... Everything checked out fine EXCEPT the integrated graphics card (intel HD 4600, I believe) which is far below par. The people in the thread notified me of this and so I decided to try and switch to my dedicated graphics card (AMD Radeon R9 200)... After updating the drivers, It wouldn't let me access my settings and so thats the fine pickle im in now.
If its a desktop then the cable where you physically connect the monitor to the computer has to be moved.
EDIT: if the dedicated card wasn't connected, how would my computer detect it anyways?
You should be able to see if your monitor cable is plugged in to the lower part where the gpu often is or the upper part of where the motherboard is. If the cable is vertical then it is plugged in the motherboard aka intergrated card probably.

This is indeed the case... I guess it is hooked up to the mother board. So I reconnect everything to the horizontal port near the bottom of the computer? Alright I see it on the computer now... Thank you for that :D
So if I switch my HDMI cable to the horizontal port that will connect up with the dedicated graphics card... Do I also have to disable the integrated graphics card in device managers or will it automatically switch with the changing of ports?
Just plug it in and go, no need to disable stuff. Maybe you need to change the resolution of your screen in windows but it should just work.
If it doesn't work just plug it back and troubleshoot.
