I gifted a game to someone, they didn't receive it
With the summer sale going on, I figured I'd send a gift to some of my friends. I tried sending one to someone, but apparently, they did not receive it. I don't see the game in my inventory, I did not receive an email confirming that I did purchase it (I checked both my regular email and spam email), but I checked my gift history and it shows it there as being redeemed. The money has already been detracted from my account, so I don't know what to do.

And how would I go about trying again later?

I'm not sure if you're serious or not.

Like I said, it's not in my inventory, so I don't really see any way for me to try again later

Apologies. You'll just have to wait until the servers sort themselves out.

Wait a few hours, servers are under heavy load and should process your request soon. It has left your inventory, so just ask your friend to sit tight.

Is it normal for emails to not be sent during the first day of the sales because of the heavy amount of traffic?

Yes.

Happened to me too, my wife accepted the gift, it says she got it, my email confirmation says she received it but it does not appear in her inventory. Unhappy.

Same issue here. Had to order the damn thing twice. Second gift went through. First one disappeared into limbo. Even though I was charged (both times) and they received it on their end, it never appeared in their inventory. And Steam's absolutely horrendous customer service has no way whatsoever for me to request a refund on the first purchase without yanking the game from the library of the person I sent it to, even though the second purchase was separate and went through fine. :berserk:

Steam doesn't charge for NON-activated products.
If it really went into limbo, you get your money back (Probably a week or less).

Can't get a refund for a gift apparently.

Well same here in a way, I'm a gifted person (no pun intended) and I'm currently stuck adding the gifted game to my library.
Couldn't activate it at first but now the server are 'a bit' more stable, I can.
But now it's stuck at the 'Scanning for Steam licenses updates' to verify that ♥♥♥♥ to even show up in my library.
Sigh, after 6 hours still can't install and play.

They'll never learn
