My friend didn't receive his gift

I sent my friend payday 2 directly through steam and he received a message on the steam app telling him that the gift was available and after he clicked "accept gift" the box disappeared and the gift has not shown up in his game library, inventory and he has no notification saying he has a gift.

resend the gift from your inventory. it stays in your steam inventory until redeemed.

he did redeem it. thats the issue. he redeemed it and now neither of us have it. it just dissapeared

i hope so. thanks to both of you for the feedback. i did notice my steam servers crashed just earlier on the store so i am hoping it's only the servers. thanks again :)

Same problem here. Friend bought me Hover Junkers, Steam says i've redeemed it but it's not in my library. There is a blank entry in my inventory Gifts section which is alphabetically where Hover Junkers should be but has no name, no icon, and can not be added to my library.

I've submitted a ticket on it, hopefully we get some answers.

My game just got sent through, here is what I did, (on my phone) I went to support then I saw my game listed, i clicked it then I said not in library, it told me it was in my invintory, i clicked the highlighted text that said view in invintory, the game showed up in a box as if you were viewing an item, I selected add to library then it worked, hope this helps :D

I was able to solve my issue it seems. This may work from within the Steam client but I did it in Chrome. It should work in any normal web browser.

Check your Inventory > Gifts page. If it looks like this http://i.imgur.com/EsKCnu2.png my answer might work for you.

That broken entry shown highlighted there is the game that didn't go through properly.

If you mouse over it, you'll see a URL along the lines of

http:// steamcommunity.com/id/ <username> /inventory/#753_1_407xxxxxxxxxxxxx

edit: Had to mangle this a bit because the forums were trying to mark it as an image for some reason.

That last part, the 407xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is the gift ID. Copy that somewhere.

Now flip to any item in your inventory that isn't broken and take a look at the "Add to my library..." link. You'll see that button actually triggers a Javascript function on the page with a URL like this:

javascript:UnpackGift( '407xxxxxxxxxxxx' );

Some of the more computer-savvy individuals reading this already know where this is going.

Take the ID from the broken entry and use it to replace the ID being set as the parameter to the UnpackGift function, then paste that string in to your address bar. Hit enter.

In my case the gift then added to my library as it was supposed to and after relaunching the Steam client I was able to install it as expected.

I too have this problem
I clicked Redeem but steam said "This gift may have already been redeemed, please try later." So I did. It was in my Library, but instead of a play button it had the activate button. I kept trying to redeem it but nothing happened. Then I tried again, but this time it disappeared from my library and the gift is gone from my inbox. Help?

I am a giftee and this happened to me. I redemmed it but it is not showing up. Ill wait a bit to see what may change but as of this morning its still not present.

Try restarting Steam first.
