Can you run it? Steam... tell me please.
Hi there,
i wonder if there is a tool within of steam that shows in easy to understand numbers if a game can be played on your pc. As far as u got, the games tell you the minimal settings, i know, but it would be nice for the casual filth as myself if this could be translated and shown with some idiocracy-smiley kinda setting.

The idea is that steam checks out your computer settings and configurations and gives you a 1 out of 10 ratio if/or how good a game runs on your PC.

I talk a lot with my friends about the PC Master Race and an argument i hear a lot is:
On a console i can drop in a game and i am 100% sure that it will run smoothly.

If you know something like (http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri) within of steam, please tell me.
If you work for steam and there is no such a thing already - could you go up to your boss and tell him that such a tool could hold back or shut down this pro-console argument and helps customers to make buy decisions.

sincerly yours,

CaptainRodger

It's a thread a long time ago but I'm pretty sure there's no such thing in Steam, but there's a better alternative than the can i run website: https://tech-guru.io. No ads, games checking done all online, and it has all the games. With this website you should be all set.

There is no such thing. Websites like the one you mentioned are unreliable.

There are system requirements for each game, read those and compare them to your own PC.
I didnt know much about PC Specs until the past few months. System Requirements website is reliable enough although may contain different specs to game page.....Check the steam game min & recomended specs and compare with yours. Go search dxdiag on Windows. Not sure about Mac. Or on Win 10, there is This PC. That will show the specs and compare. Intel and AMD processers simply work better with the greater the number, same with RAM - to put it simply

Hope it works
I don't worry that much about me. Its about a feature that is missing in my opinion. To make it easy for the casual gamer. Sometimes i am lazy and would love to see a easy to understand checklist.

Well, steam should implement this!
It would help me a lot if I could just look for games that I can run on my PC

This again?

Liability is why not. And there are far too many variables to be accurate in any way.

Try using the search function. This is brought up many times.

It is just a variation of the "System Spec Check."

On another note, even Microsoft tried something similar and it failed hard.

Now Microsoft has game streaming to compensate. Valve will also do the same.
